I wrote a couple of upstart scripts to save and retore brightness
between bootups. I hope the scripts are smart enough to run unmodified
in any system with /sys/class/backlight.

Same problem here. Some times menu entries do not work but keybord
shortcuts do. E.g. this mornig "Save as" did not work from the menu but
"Ctrl-Shift-S" displayed the "Save As" dialog.

Most times I open a session unity crashes inmediatly or after running
the first application. "unity --replace" run from the console (Alt-F1)

I have never seen this problem in my U100-026E. There is a new bio
Flashing with flash.bat worked for me. Now I have 5 bright levels when
using Fn+F5 or Fn+F6: brightness changes two steps with each key press.
I mostly followed the steps in #265 but used my SystemrescueCD to boot
freedos. You can have SystemrescueCD together with a standard Ubuntu

I have advanced quite a lot on finding the origin of the bug. It seems
to be a bug in the uvcvideo module. From my dmesg:

I wiped out the whole disk and did a fresh install of Alpha 6 and an

My MSI U100 still does not suspend/hibernate after using ubuntu-boot
PPA's. It just worked the first time I rebooted with ubuntu-boot/ppa,
but stopped working after a new reboot. Enabling ubuntu-boot/staging did
not update any packege and still does not work.
Additionally, booting now is much slow

Definitively it should be a kernel issue since booting with my old
Jaunty kernel solves the problem:
$ uname -a
