This is the error message when I start and try to enable desktop
effects:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ desktop-effects
nvidia hardware not available
/usr/bin/compiz.real: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is not supported by direct
rendering context, trying indirect rendering context instead
/usr/bin/compiz.r
Nothing from compiz works, the wobbly windows, the 3D cube etc... Thats why
I filed the bug under desktop-effects since enabling it does nothing
anymore.

The compiz via desktop-effects used to work on my Toshiba Satellite
A105-S4004 laptop on Feisty beta before a recent update. After the
update, windows would just start flashing. I turned off the desktop
effects and everything stopped fla
I get no problems installing compiz from Ubuntu. If the bug I reported
isn't an Ubuntu bug you can close it. Thanks.

Now the restricted Driver's Manager detects that I need propriety
software, but when it installs the driver X will not restart.
Judging by the output my card may need the legacy driver. I have
attached the whole X log file too:

When I go into System->Administration-> network settings I am told for
my wireless card:
"This network Interface is not configured"

Dapper. The Laptop always falls asleep, an sometimes wakes up, but the
majority of times it either the screen does not come back on or the
screen comes back on but the keyboard doesn't work.

you upgrade firefox in Dapper to 1.5.0.7 since it is the same
version+security and bug fixes.
As the Debian Changelog shows:

I missread the dependancy on libc6 (>= 2.4-1) which is not in dapper. :(
I guess I can't file this bug. It would still be nice if vim 7.0 was
backported for Dapper.
