As I have mentioned in previous post, update 4 resolves this bug.
I suppose update 5 should work but I have not installed Hardy yet.
If testcase works I think this bug can be closed.

Today I have installed Java JDK 6 update 4 from sun bin distribution
(jdk-6u4-linux-i586.bin) and letter i with acute(U+00ED) displays
corectly.

I tried to downgrade java to 1.6.0-b105, but the problem persists.
But in Fiesty this problem didn't exist. So it seems to me that something had
to change in GTK.

Here is the class reproducing bug. You can switch laf, to easily see the
diference.
It was generated with IDE, so it is not as simple, as it should be.
