Public bug reported:
I have an anonymous-access share on a Windows 2012 server that I'm
trying to mount from Ubuntu 14.04. I can access the share via smbclient
as expected:
$ smbclient -N //foo.example.com/MyShare
Anonymous login successful
Domain=[LAB9320] OS=[Windows Server 2012 Standard 9200]
Public bug reported:
It seems that smbclient isn't properly parsing domains out of
credentials files:
$ sudo cat /etc/auto.cifs.mycreds
username=myuser
password=SuperSecret
domain=LAB9320
$ sudo smbclient -A /etc/auto.cifs.mycreds //foo.example.com/MyShare
session setup failed:
Whoops, forgot to mention: this is on Ubuntu 14.04.
$ apt-cache show cifs-utils | grep Version
Version: 2:6.0-1ubuntu2

I'm also having the same problem with redshift and gtk-redshift. Here's
the debugging info I've compiled so far:

Any chance of getting this fix backported to 12.04? As 12.04's built-in
dnsmasq doesn't support /etc/NetworkManager/dnsmasq.d/, having a usable
DBus interface would at least provide a means of altering the service's
configuration.

Public bug reported:
The integration of Dnsmasq into NetworkManager is, overall, very
convenient: it makes dealing with _some_ VPN connections on Ubuntu much
easier.
However, there are still a number of VPN connections that NetworkManager
doesn't support, or doesn't support fully (e.g. a number
The need for setuid was also discussed back when the Redhat folks first

The following is a workaround (solution?) for this problem:
$ sudo chmod u+s /sbin/ccreds_chkpwd

Just thought I'd throw in a me too on this one.
For those Googling about this problem, here's the error I received from
vmware-config-tools.pl that led me to this bug report:
# vmware-config-tools.pl
...
None of the pre-built vmhgfs modules for VMware Tools is suitable for your
running kernel.
This issue was diagnosed on the openafs thread I posted earlier. Looks like
it's a kernel memory issue that crops up on some systems (my old desktop, for
one) when the openafs client cache options in /etc/openafs/afs.conf are set as
follows:
OPTIONS=-chunksize 20 -memcache -blocks 65536
Just thought I'd note it's also a dependency of wine (perhaps once or
twice removed). Quite annoying.

Unfortunately, my BIOS does not have any such Plug and Play OS
setting. Each of my PCI slots is currently set to PNP. though. If
I'd like, I could go through and manually assign IRQs to each of the

I tried the following kernel parameter combinations with no success:
1. pci=noacpi
