What ever the problem was, it is now fixed. Must have been fixed in one of the
updates that were installed since the problem was reported.

Used link in this email and downloaded xsensors_0.70.orig.tar, opened .tar
file and read readme(~/.cache/.fr-... and see that lm_sensors 3.0.0+ program is
required to tell xsensors what is happening at the hardware level. Looked at
link and appears that a config. file needs to be made that

You may not have the required depend
Sudo aptitude install lm-sensors sensors-applet should be
sudo (small s) aptitude install lm-sensors sensors-applet. your command
line returns "program not found"!
