Nevermind, if you accidentally click outside the input name text field,
it defaults to that in future games, until the program is restarted.
This made it look like it mishandled the tie score.

Same GNOME - can't handle tie scor
After playing online, the settings reset so that the default was 2 human
players with 0 cpus. Changing to 1 human and 1 cpu fixed the problem.

In Same GNOME, I scored a tie with a previous score. The score board
did not record this score, and did not present me with the opportunity
to add my name. There should be two scores both at 2343, there is only
one.

Had the same/similar problem, but I would have 5-6 instances of network
manager running, all using 14%ish of the CPU.
Also had the problem where it wouldn't connect to certain wireless
networks.
Followed Catalin's advice and switched to Wicd, no problems.
