I have created bug #787625 to describe the update manager failure
resulting in the inability to boot. It got assigned to update-manager-
core; please reassign as appropriate. This is a critical bug that can
wipe out the Ubuntu community.

I upgraded from Ubuntu 10.10 to 11.04, and I get a black screen with a
