This bug is fixed for me as of Ubuntu 9.10. The tv card now outputs
sound as expected after each boot. Thank you!

I can confirm this bug in Ubuntu 9.04. I'm using a Pinnacle PCTV capture
card using the bttv driver. Right after a reboot, tvtime will only
output static as sound, but if I run these commands:
sudo modprobe -r bt878 bttv
sudo modprobe snd_bt87x
sudo modprobe bt878
and then run tvtime, I will get
I can confirm this bug for Pidgin 2.4 and also the backported 2.5 on
Ubuntu Hardy. It doesn't always happen, but when it does, I find that

I can confirm this.
When trying to save a TIFF image, gThumb gives an error saying: "Image
type not supported: image/tiff".
This problem also exists in Eye of Gnome and you get a more descriptive
error message saying: "This build of gdk-pixbuf does not support saving
the image format: tiff".

It seems likely to be a duplicate. I am using en_AU.UTF-8 as locale and
setting LANG=C does show correct shortcuts.
However, unlike Chris Goerner commented in bug #50176, switching to
LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 does not fix this problem. Switching to LANG=en_GB will
cause a fallback to C locale as en_GB is

After the upgrades around 13-16 June, 2006, menu shortcuts in gtk2 apps

After reconfiguring tvtime (again) and then manually disabled all the
enabled channels (for some reason setting the frequency table did not
disable unused channels), channel tuning is working fine. However, I
still get static as audio.
