I've confirmed that it's not a setting on Google's side as I can connect
to it perfectly with Pidgin. I can import that account from Pidgin to
Empathy and I get the same error. "No reason specified".

I saw the builds were failing for 0.7-1build1. I'll attach a patch. Some
stuff was declared "static" twice and other functions were undefined. It
compiles fine now with this patch, but I haven't tested behaviour. I
think it works. Take a look?
This patch makes apache2 serve php5 from public_html by default, and includes
instructions on how to disable it.
Previous behavior was was to disable by default and instruct to enable.
I think my way is more user friendly and is expected behavior.
