After testing, this seems to be a problem with gtk+-2.0 pixmap engine.

nice job with these icons :)
My suggestion is to add overlay the existing emblems to all pixmap sizes
(partially because there are already folders with emblems on them, so
this follows the existing design). I have considered

of the interfaces you mention and then b) find out whether they are from
the same theme or whether the notification applet uses it's own icons.
Most likely, a link to the right names in the right place (the human

For Jaunty we cannot patch network manager to lookup the right icon for
the notification so we will add a link to the human-icon-theme package
which points to the name it currently uses

it does not double the size of it, although it does increase it. The
original had problems with 2+ pixel transparent borders on the side and
bottom and the author was asked to correct it. I tried using pngcrush
but it only reduced it by a houndred KB or so.

Unfortunately, changing the icon in the human theme makes the panel and
connection editor versions look horrible. The only correct way I can see
to do this is to change the lookup name in network manager for the
notification bubble version

incorrect battery empty icon shown in notification

primary-000 empty battery status (just before shutting down) instead of
the nice new notification icons

the fix is already in place...the problem is that the change has not
made it into the repository for jaunty yet. It will be included sometime
after the release candidate.
