Daily kubuntu, clean install in virtualbox
I wanted to try if it is possible to have an encrypted boot partition
too, like openSuSE.
I opted for manual configuration of the partitions and created a new
partition table. First i created a small (1G) partition and chosed

1) Remove your old version.
2) Install this one.
3) Restart the system.
4) Try to make it crash and see if it works for you as well.

I have tried this with Xubuntu 14.04 several times with the same result.
Always updated 64-bit systems from a minimal CD, if it matters. I do not

I am getting this error every time i try to create the signature file on any
computer running 14.04. Both 32 and 64 bit. Updated today.
The version of apt-offline is 1.3.1.
It complains about not understanding the simulate option, but I have
not asked for that option at

messages seems to appear at row 1499, but it seems to mean a lot of

(But before I try that again, I need to know how to get rid of the
window. It did not accept to be closed and a shutdown killed far more
then the window itself... *lol* )

I need some help by someone clever.
I've installed saucy in virtualbox (ubuntu version) and updated it to
trusty. But the resolution of the screen then went so smal that I can't
fit the nettings diaolg that I need. It is just 640x480. Useless!
I installed the additions, but it didn't help.
Ok, I solved the problem with Virtualbox and could complete the test

I'm happy to tell that is was NOT reproducable, in that way anyway. That
must mean that it is my system that is broken, not the xfce or lightdm
components. And of there where problems with the packages I

I don't know what greeter it is using, or have been using.
But I do know that saucy is showing the users wallpaper. (Well, maybee
wallpaper of the last one who have been loged in?) One of the more
elegant changes since Precis.
AÍ also know that I'm stuck with the old wallpaper, wich was the

1) It does not affect newly created accounts. (Created today.)
2) Of the two older accounts, I can only try with my own. Missing the password
for the other one.
I tried again, and I was not mistaken. Xubuntu does

According to comment #11 the source of the problem have changed. It's
caused by a bad behavior from the installation process of apt-build. It
is (correctly in my case) creating a amd-64 folder tree in the
/var/cache. But it wrongly puts a i386-line in sources.list. Those to
MUST be identical.

I have the same problem. I run xubuntu 12.04 upgraded from 10.04.
I found that the icon only where missing at my own (and only) account.
But if I created a new account the icons showed corrrectly. Therefore I
suspected that the problem was related to the user settings, but i don't
know what file.
I think it's time to close this bug whatsoever by now. The time for
Oneiric is runnig out. It's not preserved in later versions.
