Public bug reported:
When I suspend my laptop *and* close the lid, when I resume from suspend
by opening the lid xorg restarts and my session is lost. If I suspend
the laptop, don't close the lid, and resume from suspend using the power
button, the problem doesn't occur.

I haven't found a fix. Closest thing would be a few perl scripts that I
came across and have tried running/modifying. But they aren't a fix, at
least I wouldn't consider them one.

Just learned draining a L-ion battery completely will permanently damage
the battery's capacity. I won't be purchasing a new battery until I can
be certain that gnome-power-manager will provide the proper
warnings/actions to prevent damage to a new battery. I have looked at
the gnome-power-manage
I'm fairly certain that I've experienced this problem since Gutsy. I'm
running Jaunty now and still have the problem. Incidentally, this bug
should be considered critical. Apparently, draining a Li-on battery
completely kills the battery (mine only has 9.8% of it's original
capacity).

I get about 46 minutes from my 5200mAh battery. I charged it until the
charge light indicated it was fully charged, then let the battery
completely run down until the system powered off. Typing acpi at the
command line doesn't report the % full accurately, but there is a
problem with the battery
I have the same problem with "GStreamer encountered a general supporting
library error". I also can't connect to BBC. Someone in #ubuntu told
me to do sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras. Didn't fix the
problem, however.

I have an AR242x, and I haven't had the problems you're describing.
What Atheros chipset does your DLINK card use?
What does "lspci | grep Atheros" and "sudo lshw -C network" tell you?
Have you made sure the problem doesn't occur when connected with wired
connection?
Have you tried on another w
