It seems I've let this report run wild: The issue in this bug is EXA
being "damn slow" on some Intel graphics chipsets. While the issue has
yet to be fixed, the things being discussed here have nothing to do with
it.
I'm removing myself from the mailing list for the report because it no

My questions were directed at the OP.
I was referring to my X log: /var/log/Xorg.0.log, which shows the same
basic lines as the OP posted, only more (because my card has a lot more
modes to scan, presumably). If I keep a log reader open on it, the
output is quite noticeable as the scroll bar shows
While the cursor is jumping, I too get lots of log output. Seems the
issue is with the Intel driver randomly redetecting modelines - with
bursts of fifty some redetections every so often. While that happens,
the cursor display location jumps just because of how the driver works,
and everything gets
Got some questions, because I'm having the same symptoms, but I don't believe
it has anything to do with evdev:
- Is the cursor jumping or the actual mouse location? For me, the
hardware-rendered cursor jumps, but input goes where it's supposed to (where
the mouse should have been).
- Does this
No one really cares if you /do/ own one. The majority of users don't,
and gnome-pilot should not be part of a default installation.
If you do have one, good for you, if this goes through, you can
reinstall it.

The precise issue here is an assertion failure in libmetacity:

The best workaround I can find is to right click on the page. It seems
to temporarily fix the flickering. If you switch tabs or change window
focus you need to do it again, but if you're doing something that
requires proper input handling in Firefox it may be your only option.
