The patch is for gcc 4.6+ so as I understand upstream gcc releases wont compile
as is on ubuntu anymore e.g.
if I want to compile gcc 4.2 for any reason then that needs to be patched.
Would it be possible to have a gplv2
implementation of the given patch too so we can keep building older

Does this then fix the issue ? or do you mean something else by specifying this
snippet?
in the patch this will come from linux.h therefore this was redundant thats why
it is removed

I ran into this issue today. Its caused by android config patches
especially r99494. Problem is that ppc config does not use
config/linux.h instead it only used rs6000/linux.h or rs6000/linux64.h
so it misses the new defines. Fix would be either copy those
definitions from config/linux.h into

The workaround was
sudo modprobe -r iwlagn
sudo modprobe iwlagn
and then hog was gone and also wireless worked well

killing newtworkmanager does not help. But killing wpa_supplicant helps
however when I kill wpa_supplicant. System restarts it. So it never gets
killed. I removed wpasupplicant package itself. Now that helps and I get
connected to wireless network but when I reboot system it does not
reconnect.
Now I did replace /sbin/wpa_supplicant with a soft link to /bin/true (to
make sure that it was wpa_supplicant) now I do
sudo ifconfig wlan0 up
sudo iwconfig wlan0 mode managed key xx essid MANIMAHESH
sudo dhclient3 wlan0
and it connects all the time.
