it seems like disabling "Show live previews of windows in the Switcher"
has some unfortunate side effects. The "Show Desktop" button is not
working properly - it hides the windows at first click but it does not
restore them on the second.

I was unable to spot the mentioned setting "Show minimized windows in
switcher" in CCSM / Unity Plugin but i found out that disabling the
Setting "Show live previews of windows in the Switcher" at the same
place solves the bug. Maybe it its the same setting but got renamed?
