I looked at the tutorial page and I saw no mention of how to install the
broadcom sta driver. I'm not a german speaker so I just might have missed
it. In any case, the broadcom sta driver bundled in the ubuntu repositories
should work perfectly. The package you need to install for ubuntu 9.10 is

X crash - restarts randomly
Broadcom released a new update to the module. Hopefully, someone will
upgrade linux-restricted-modules to that. And hopefully, this new release
will fix your problem.

same here - still crashing on ubuntu 8.10 with a dell d630.
@dg Hold on for a couple of hours. A tar.gz and dsc file for the update
is already in the repos. A deb would be generated very soon and then you
can update to it.

Also having this same issue in Intrepid. The sound is good but when i
mute the system, I hear crackling noises coming out of speakers. I
havent changed any sound options or anything(I upgraded from hardy and
everything worked perfectly , no crackling sounds when muted).

[Hardy]
Has nothing to do with nvidia. I don't have a nvidia card(never had one)
and I use to experience this problem. After upgrading to hardy, i kept
expereincing the same problem. Soon afterwards it disappeared. The
problem seems fixed on my laptop. Personally, I think it has something
to do with heat.

powernowd. The freezes are not as frequent though. And yes, if the keyboard
freezes whilst you have a key pressed. the OS assumes the key is still pressed
even after you take your hand of the key. (made me
I uninstalled powernowd and I keep getting the keyboard freezes. Not as
frequently as when powernowd was installed though.

I noticed that this thread was in the powernowd bug queue and so I
shutdown the powernowd daemon and disabled the powernowd service and
since then, there has been no freezes.
