After updating the system, the update manager does not close with an indication
about a successful update but closes the system and the machine must be turned
off manually in order to able to proceed.
After a reboot the system functions normally.

After a successful update which included an update to 2.6.32-41 the grub menu
list contain the two entries for
2.6.32-41.
When I try to start the machine with either entry the machine immediately goes
into a restart, i.e. Ubuntu does not start.

The previous version of the kernel is not affected; the machine can be
used with this verison.
