The Problem seems to be with the IRC integration, it's enough to have
one highlighted in a persistent IRC Chat and open it via indicator
applet, one can't close the window with the IRC chat, one has to remove
the chat completly to be able to close the window.

Tested it with a pure Ubuntu (only Pidgin additionaly installed), the
same happens, if you open pidgin via the entry about the new message and
try to close the Window, it goes crazy.
What is to say, is that opened via indicator-applet it opens all active
chats and not only the one, with the messag

highlights the pidgin-client in an IRC-Channel and one opens pidgin with
the indicator applet. (Via the message with the highlight).

I found the failure, I followed this Link

The Problem reappeared this Time it was an Windows XP client. But it also
effectet my Tattoo
00:11:95:93:08:14 is the MAC of the Windows client.
But was also happened was, that the network was showed me twice on my
Tattoo, but one as wep secured. But it is secured with wpa.

Just created ad-hoc network, then for a while it stated that I'm connected,
then disconnected, connected, disconnected, connected and so on and the
nm-applet disappeared again. With no crash report.

Also had it again that it showed me, that it is connected, then that it
isn't connected anymore and so on until I deleted the ad-hoc network in
the connection editor.

Sorry I was so used in using ubuntu-bug, that I forgot to mention the

After the nm-applet disappeared from the start* I installed Lucid newly
and updated (less than an hour ago) and the disappearing vanished.

What happend additionaly, it somehow broke my Network Interfaces.
In NetworkManager it only shows that Networks aren't managed.
(Doesn't show LAN, W-LAN and UMTS)
Also iwlist scan doesn't bring up any Networks.
Even after the reload of ath5k and sud
O.k. found the failure, Synaptic told me linux-headers-2.6.32-16 would
be installed but the respective folder wasn't there under /usr/src/ only
the generic so I thought that linux-headers-* would be a "link" on the
kernel which is on use (eg generic).

O.k. I've got it to work somehow.
I started acer-wmi
sudo modprobe acer-wmi
then unloaded ath5k
sudo modprobe -r ath5k
and loaded it again
sudo modprobe ath5k
And then I could scan for wireless networks also NetworkManager shows

Toward the problem of connecting an unsecured AdHoc Network
(sg.openwireless.ch in my case) it's still in the 0.7.1 NM as delivered
through the Network-Manager ppa for Hardy
But I was able to connect through wpa_supplicant to the network.
