On a fresh installed 8.10, i had the same problem. Tried the same with
the msi=0 msix=0 but this didn't made any changes.
I decided to blame something else for this issue and so i started to
search on my 'Message too large' problem, which i was getting when using
'dhclient eth0'.
To solve my prob
I just updated ubuntu and got Firefox 3.0.7 along with it.
I loaded up jquery 1.3.2 and alerted a text message (on document.ready)
but FF will crash without any messages or errors.
Alert boxes on.click will function correctly.
