This is happen only with VGA connected monitor. With HDMI, I don't have
the problem.

I also confirm that disabling KMS solves this problem.
Tested on Ubuntu 10.04 with kernel 2.6.32-21 on IBM/Lenovo T60 with Mobility
Radeon X1300.
Login screen is not with the right resolution, but who care if external monitor
is working again :-)

I have the same wave problem on my external VGA TFT monitor. I used 10.04
beta 2 and yesterday I update to release. Problem still exists.
My notebook is IBM/Lenovo T60 with Mobility Radeon X1300.
I don't have this problem before with Ubuntu 9.04 and 8.04
