I also hit this bug (with some Danish internet bank applications).
I tested these three Firefox versions, which all crash:
10.0.2+build1-0ubuntu0.10.04.1
10.0.1+build1-0ubuntu0.10.04.1
10.0+build1-0ubuntu0.10.04.2
I managed a temporary work-around by downgrading to this version:
9.0.1
Just to update some outdated information:
apt-able repositories are now here:
http://downloads.askmonty.org/mariadb/repositories/
The scripts are maintained in this repository:
lp:~maria-captains/ourdelta/ourdelta-montyprogram-fixes
The links in the original bug report point to outdate
Fixed in MariaDB 5.2.4 and 5.1.53

Title:
[Hardy SRU] dash bug causes mysqld_sa
Here is a simple way to reproduce this issue:
bzr init-repo --format=2a .
mkdir a
bzr init a
cd a
touch f1
bzr add f1
bzr commit -m "commit 1"
touch f2
echo foo >>f1
bzr add f2
bzr commit -m "commit 2"
cd ..
bzr branch -r1 a b
cd b
bzr log -rrevid:$(cd ../a && bzr log
I fixed this for mariadb by adding a patch to the .deb packaging that
puts #!/bin/bash in the header of mysqld_safe.
Fix will be available from 5.1.52 and 5.2.4.
