My problem was solved using "vlc %m". So NTFS had nothing to do with it.
Btw I'm using NTFS-3G, which is quite good on my Aspire One.

Bumped into this thread while looking for a solution on my Aspire One ( Linpus
Lite ~= Fedora 8 ).
I seem to have the same problem. Cannot check ftm whether the solutions
proposed here would work.
In my case the iso is being read from a USB disk with NTFS.
Will check later and report back.
