Title:
Webcam not detected on Dell Inspiron 1545
To manage notifications
I had the same problem, I had to reinstall. For some reason you need to
install things in a specific order to get this to work.
After the install open update manager.
Update all packages
Close update manager
Then install the sta package from the additional drivers program and it
should work
changing to invalid as I am the only person who can reproduce this and
it seems to have been fixed with the upgrade

start nm-applet would work...

cannot register existing type `_PolkitError'
might be because your on a 64 bit platform?
Can you try running the live cd of 32 and 64 and see if you can recreate
the problem?
also was this a fresh install or an upgrade? and how did you do this
upgrade
Is it doing this after coming back from suspend?

Maybe you can try downgrading nm-applet and see if that works at least
then it will tell us if it is the applet or a program/library it depends
on

You received this bug notification because you
are you using the xp drivers? are you putting the sys and inf files in
the same directory?
Are you doing this all from command line? You could always apt-get
ndiswrapper-gtk to make sure everything is where it needs to be
you can also try installing the next version
these are rpm, but you can
Installing the driver using ndiswrapper -i also results in an invalid
driver. The problem is that only the inf file is copied, but not the sys
and bin files

last night and it seems this problem has been resolved, can anyone else
confirm this?

Eric, I have ndiswrapper installed on that kernel at home and I can't
remember how I got it installed off the top of my head. When I get home
tonight I'll look at my notes and let you know.
