Sorry for the delay. I was only able to upgrade to 10.04 three days ago.
So far it looks ok, but I would like to test it more during the next few
days. Even in 9.10, after some kernel update the problem was
intermittent.

shows the interface and its ip address, but no traffic can be received.
I have to manually ifdown/ifup the wlan0 interface to restore it. I use

After applying a big update on 2009-04-18 (which includes among others
kdebase-bin_4:4.2.2-0ubuntu4) I can no loner login to KDE desktop. While
logging in the splash screen blink a few times (disappears and
reappears) and then the desktop goes into an infinite loop of
