It`s a bit odd but if I record it with VLC and then wait a few minutes and
start playing with another VLC I the stream is not interrupted,
Although the colors are totally weird(which might be a codec thing)

I disable some processes and then installed Ubuntu just fine. The only
problem was that for some reason the display was just 576x384 so I had
to guess where the "next" button was. Unfortunately I haven`t been able
to change the screen resolution to a decent resolution i.e. 1024x768.

the live TV link above which is a .asx doesn`t play correctly, sometimes when
playing with Gxine it lasts no longer than 15 seconds.
Why is .asx so difficult to play?
The library test put here by Alex Jones plays just fine.

I had changed permission to the whole usr folder to be used by anyone but the
owner would still be root,
the /var/cache/apt wasn`t modified so I assume it was owned by root
When I used update-manager I was logged as a normal user and trying to use it
through the GUI not with the console

I was able to play it perfectly on gxine, when trying to play with vlc
it didn`t work, when playing with gstreamer on Firefox it took a while
till it started but it played eventually, I had problems with .asf and
some .asx are still crap to play i I tried for something for .asf which
may work for y
It happened again so I got a screen shot of it. Is there any other
important info i could provide?(I am quite noob reporting bugs.)

Sorry for taking so long to answer, I tried to reproduce the bug but couldn`t I
reinstalled Mplayer and its codecs, now I can watch streams from firefox
(couldn`t before) thus not having to copy the web adress and past it at VLC, I
