Great, now I'm wondering if it could be possible for somebody to simply
add this patch to the distro kernel and then use on of the daemons they
use with the IBM devices or if we have to wait until NATHANIELMNELSON
releases his daemon.

Hi,
I recently installed flashplugin-nonfree under Xubuntu 8.04 on two
machines. To begin with, I tried to load a video on YouTube, but Firefox
didn't offer me the flash installation, so I had to install it manually
under the console.
So, anybody wishing to help?
is not that important to me as an Archlinux user, but I like to help
Ubuntu by reporting bugs, if you don't care then meybe I shouldn't at
all...
I'll try to use 8.04.1 to see if this is fixed, if it's not I hope
someone is willing to fix this.

I've got more information, when booting in safe mode the system shows
this, and then some info about the drives and then just freezes:

The install is a fresh one...
All the distros I have run on this machine have no problems with the
drives.
I actually run Arch linux as my Main OS.
There doesn't appears any errors, it just seems to be the kernel boot
output...

Yeah, I tried to enter in boot safe mode, but no luck. the system just
freezes where it says something about the DVD/CD drives.

I cant lauch Kubuntu Live-CD, after i boot the CD, it asks me for the
options (Install or Start, etc), and no matter which options i choose,
it just fails. After i Choose install or start kubuntu, it loads the
kernel, then the screen goes black and says for less that a secend:
