*gah* ... I'm also having these problems. Non-geek family-members and
friends do not understand what to do when this happens. :}
It happens a lot with mis-named videos downloaded with FrostWire. Right-
clicking then selecting "open with" from the context-menu works of
course - but it sucks big-tim
This also happens with misnamed video-files and isn't something a
"normal user" would understand or be able to fix. Maybe there should be
some options:
* Ignore and view file with `app-name'
* Always ignore and view with `app-name'

Tried the never branch/patch `emacs-unicode-2':

Yes, it seems to happen once in a while with Edgy too.
