Same problem with a M-Audio Delta 44 (same alsa driver ice1712). The workaround above works, with "device=hw:M44". >From what I read in the link posted above, the problem seems to be that there is no default channel map (i.e. knowing which channel is left and which is right) for 10 channels cards
