Hi Daniel, I tested with three different cables same result. however I brought
home another carbon X1 (Windows and now windows is reporting a faulty usb, it
wont register the screen is connected-- Its possible / likely that the screen
is faulty & its just out of warranty.. I am going to bring m

Updating to 20.04 from 18.04 complains about ppas. I think it's the wine
ppa for Bionic not having a release file, but I have disabled as far as
apt update and apt upgrade go so I don't know how to proceed. /var/log
/dist-upgrade/main.log mentions broken packages after upgradi
the bug also does not occur in 5.8.0-29-generic, so i suppose it was
already fixed somewhere. I had to install that manually -- I'm not
sure why apt didn't upgrade me to that if it was available.

I did not apply the patch in #13, but I did try disabling highdma with
ethtool (essentially what the patch makes permanent) and that had no
effect for me (at least not on the kernel I was using at the time). I
did try the patch in #40 and that had no effect for me either. The only
