regarding #58 - ignore the last line. That's a copy-paste fail on my

I've been experiencing this for several months now (not exactly sure
when it started). For me, the error leads to a hard stop and the option
to Ctrl-D to continue or ENTER for maintenance.
I followed the process from #47 (Saroumane wrote on 2020-04-06:)
Adding COMPRESS=gzip to

Note that once crashed, I'm not able to run firefox/thunderbird/chrome
with any stability until a full system reboot.

Public bug reported:
mozilla-based apps (firefox/thunderbird) crash randomly for seemingly no
reason.
Happens multiple times per day but not repeatable. Shortly after mozilla
apps crash, Chrome crashes as well.
Happens on primary desktop. Have replaced ALL hardware but the problem
"followed" me
Firefox, Chrome, and Thunderbird all crashing (either in combination or
individually) at least once per day, sometimes multiple times.
Full reboot will clear things up for a while (meaning: another day or
so)
Problem existed on previous hardware. Rebuilt on all new hardware,
reinstalled Kubuntu
