I'm traveling right now and only have my one usb drive with me. If I can borrow another one I will try to confirm and get back to you, otherwise won't be able to respond until I get home in another week or so. For what it's worth, this same usb storage device previously worked with no problems.

I'm having this same problem on an up to date installation of Oneiric. I notice it most frequently when running Chrome fully maximised, no other applications running. Unity launcher also sometimes does not close when in dodge windows mode. I have discovered that by dragging an icon, picture, etc.
