Even though I had sound working on ubuntu 11.10 it doesn't work anymore.
I set every volume control on alsamixer to 100 and unmutted them all and
here are the results from some programs (that should help
troubleshooting this):

I was able to upgrade oneiric to precise without problems. The next day after a
failed update/upgrade/dist-upgrade unity crashed.
I was able to solve by installing its dependencies. Now whenever I click on the
mouse right button Unity 3D crashes and restart.

I've added this PPA and updated the appmenu-qt package. After several
tests, it wasn't possible to reproduce the bug with Amarok or Ktorrent,

Workaround is to increase memory java heap size to a higher number.
1. vi /etc/init/eucalyptus.conf
change
from:

3. restart eucalyptus-cloud service

A similar problem happens to me, when screen is locked only one layout
works (the first one in the list of keyboard layouts), no matter what
layout is selected. I tried installing different layouts, but the same
thing happens, always.

util /usr/bin/yes :-P
I know having spaces in variable assignment must not happen without
quotes though we should find a way of enforcing or sanitize variables.
