High cpu usage when lightdm screenlock
Same issue, seems to only happen when external monitors are connected to
the laptop (Thinkpad T460p with docking station). Xorg also experiences
higher than normal CPU usage during those periods. Greeter itself seems
to work at least partially (sluggish, text missing from error messages).

Similar thing happens with file-roller/pcmanfm combination (XFCE). As
soon as mouse enters pcmanfm boundaries — error message appears and
desktop stops responding (however, all applications continue to work,
although nothing can be pressed/closed etc).

Unfortunately, I experience this bug on Oneiric. Just switched to xfce,
so haven't encountered it before and can't give any comments regarding
previous versions.
Can only add that compose key position also gets forgotten.

On my machine all symptoms are exactly the same, so I consider this bug
to be the same one.
In my case "amixer set Master toggle" toggles 2 channels (namely Master and
PCM) but unmutes only one (Master, PCM stays muted).
"amixer set PCM toggle" behaves similarly - mutes both Master and PCM, but
Solution #23 worked for both Skype 2.2.0.25 and VLC 1.1.9 in my case.
