When you put in bash "computer-janitor" it prints you and error saying
"Error:" i think it's because you have tu run that command with sudo

After installing Ubuntu 8.04 on my Lenovo 3000 N200 ESG sound didn't work.
To solve the problem I had to edit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base and add at the end
of the file the following line:
options snd-hda-intel model=lenovo
