disclaimer for the version bump: Debian did the same, so I presume their
security team had good reasons to do it
[14:39:59] reverse-depends... tcpdump is a tool, not a library
[14:40:17] I reverse-depends can use it by calling the binary,
and the commandline didn't change

I'm not sure about how the error message can be more clean
anyhow, I sent an email to vbox-dev mail list, maybe they can do
Actually this is not so easy, usually virtualbox and ext pack are
compatible each other, just sometimes you are forced to upgrade it too.
Maybe upstream can provide some useful message to ask users to update,
when the virtualbox update makes the extension pack incompatible

Hello, can't reproduce:
1) created zesty clean vm
2) installed vbox 5.1.14 inside it
3) installed ext-pack and added my user to vboxusers
4) touch foo.ova
5) try to import appliance foo.ova
Result: VERR_TAR_UNEXPECTED_EOS, but no crash
