There was no problem with either "Maverick" or "natty". I have no idea if this problem appeared in "Oneiric" as I skipped over it when I upgraded. The upstream kernel seems to work fine. I have no problem with restarting or shutting down. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete
