I have this same problem. I just installed Jaunty on my inspiron 4000
today and the synergy client stopped working properly. The keyboard
works fine and I can click, but my mouse is confined. Unfortunately
Manuel's workaround doesn't work for me because the whole reason I don't

This is bizarre, I just plugged and unplugged a mouse into my laptop and
my synergy mouse works fine now. I didn't need to leave it plugged in,
and my touchpad still works and doesn't conflict with synergy. Weird but

The solution posted didn't work for me...
The program doesn't crash, and it seems to be all right except the part of no
sound :(
As a sidenote, "pmidi -p " doesn't make any sound
at all but wastes 100% CPU time, just like rosegarden while playing (or
making us believe it is doing it).

Ok, my problem was solved by ignoring timidity, fluisynth and jack
(which isn't needed for the MIDI playing).
I just needed to install the asfxload utility and find a Sound Font so I
could initialize my sound card midi sound table (without it it would not
play a midi sound).
After that there is n

Same problem as everyone else, but noticed a strange thing on doing a
"ps -x".
As shown in the attachement, esd and some evolution programs are running
too.
I'm using a fully updated Kubuntu Dapper and never started evolution on
my own will, so I fell that very strange...

Just to add that I never had noticed this before, except today, after
installing eclipse (from the eclipse site and installed in my home
directory) and "toying" around with it some time.
After closing it (and the CPU settled down because I don't have enough
memory nor CPU for eclipse) that's when
grrr... forgot the gamin_debug file...
It's >3MB uncompressed in just a few seconds, so hope it helps...

I used the "smp" kernel version in Ubuntu Breezy CPUSET was
effectively compiled. But when I installed Dapper I didn't find any kernel
compiled with this option

I get the same (EIP also at acpi_hw_low_level_read+0xa/0x7c) on an EPIA
EN1200. For what it's worth, FC6test3 also panics at
acpi_hw_low_level_read, and dapper boots just fine.
