I can confirm this bug in Ubuntu Hardy 8.04. Strangely enough, it only
happened after I reinstalled Gutsy and upgraded to Hardy (I had made a
clean install of Hardy a couple of days ago and it qcomicbook worked
perfectly).

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: reportbug
Hi,
Since the release of hardy, we (Debian) have seen several bugs reported
by Ubuntu users to the Debian BTS.
It seems that a change made by Daniel Hahler in reportbug 3.39ubuntu2
caused reportbug to default to sending bugs to the Debian BTS.
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: update-manager
While dragging an item from the desktop over the Software Update window
in Feisty Herd 5, it just spontaneously closes. No visible error
message, or any warning: it just disappears. I can launch it again
without trouble, but the problem per
Neither ubuntu 8.10, nor open jdk, nor ATI drivers solve the problem on
my machine (IBM thinkpad T60p).

I don't have 9.04 here, but I can still reproduce this symptom in 8.10.

I've installed Ubuntu 9.04 alpha 2 and applied all the updates for this
test. I don't have two sound cards in this test machine, so I can't
confirm exactly the same behaviour, but I've made a simpler test as
described below and I believe the problem is still present.

I'm also having this problem with a new install of Ubuntu 8.10 LAMP Server

[intrepid] REGRESSION: multimedia
Yes I understand, however, even when overriding the pcm.!default I have
exactly the same problem with Jaunty 9.04 or Intrepid 8.10.
How are you trying to reproduce this? What are the steps you're doing
while trying to reproduce this bug?
I was able to reproduce this using a kvm image with 2 sound
Hi, sorry for the long delay. I've been too bus to try this out.
I'm writing this from a fresh install of Ubuntu 8.10
I've done the two steps you mentioned, my current ifconfig output is:
=
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet direcciónHW 00:1f:d0:82:2a:49
inet dirección:192.1
Hi, on Fedora 10 the ifconfig output is (I used "LANG=C" because the output is
in spanish by default):
$ LANG=C;ifconfig
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:1F:D0:82:2A:49
inet addr:192.168.1.33 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0

Just FYI, this should be fixed in some next kernel version. I've emailed
Jiri Kosina who is the maintainer of this driver and it he did a very
nice job fixing this!
Here's the patch for those interested:

Unfortunately, it's not possible to disable the quirks at runtime
(without recompiling). There are static and runtime applied quirks, you
can only change the runtime quirks; the static ones are always applied.
You can look at drivers/hid/usbhid/hid-quirks.c (line 1203) in the
kernel source. When i

I think your keyboard may be different, and that would explaing why it's
not working. I suspect there are several different keyboards using the
same product id, and that would explain why some needs the patch, some
doesn't need and probably some others (like yours) will need different
