Binary package hint: compiz
Compiz 0.9.2 in Natty has some glitches in decorations using an Intel Gma500
chipset.
Decorations have a black background on corners (no trasparency) and maximized
windows don't have decorations.
This chip worked well with compiz 0.8.x and previo

I get same issue with xulrunner.
Is there an update version and if there is how can i make xulrunner finish its
configuration?
Because i'm stuck at configuring (also using dpkg --reconfigure -a) and cannot
update the system..

The problem seems related to this warning during the boot:
general protection fault: [#1] SMP
It doesn't appear booting w/o "quiet splash".. googling i haven't found
a working solution at the moment.

I can confirm this issue on my T40.
Normal boot with "quiet splash" has the same 8 problems reported by jerrylamos.
I've to boot using the Recovery mode or without splash.

I can confirm this bug on my Jaunty system.
If I use gdm autologin gnome-keyring-daemon doesn't work and i get the same
warnings.

same for me on a Thinkpad T40 (mobility 7500)..
i can boot hitting Alt+F2 after grub or removing splash from menu.lst
I don't want to believe this issue will not be solved before the

switching off gnome-power-manager in sessions cause hanging
the shutdown dialog..
switching on gnome-power-manager the shutdown dialog appears
immediately so no problem.
I'd like to switch off gnome-power-manager on my pc as usual and use
this feature only on my notebook (t40 ibm).

highlight off+wrap on = it's ok... pretty scrollable and editable. (seems equal
to highlight off+wrap off)
so, in my opinion, "highlight" is our issue...
i'm ready, if necessary, to continue testing gedit.. bye!

ok.. tested with a 500kb .sql document:
Highlight on+wrap on=disaster, 5-10 secs of full hanging
Highlight on+wrap off=seems usable, cpu sometimes rise
highlight off+wrap off=works like a charm...
well i'd like to use highlight and wrapping as well :-)
I hope these tests can help you debugging.

php5-mysql phpmyadmin
Without these packages no problems so far... Any theory? :-)
