I use a up to date maverick.
It says the same message but it works fine (i suggest you to check your

I use Ubuntu 10.04 lucid lynx beta (up to date).
This is cheese 2.30.0.
Cheese crashes on startup (even the LED of the webcam doesn't switch
on).
Nothing in stdout nor stderr (only the version and the segfault error).
cheese worked well
