Update: It's better to leave the wifi card slot uncovered. When the cover is
screwed, it pushes the card that heels a little and probably the "Stradivari"
loses the tuning.

Linux Mint 13 Maya on a Dell Latitude D600.
sudo lshw -C Network
*-network:0
Not the most elegant solution but I extracted the WIFI Card Intel 2100
from my Dell D600, inserted it again in the slot and now I'm sending
this message with a wireless connnection.
