I have the same issue with a MacBook 13" (synaptics touchpad) running
Lucid Lynx. Extremely frustrating! The sensitivity of the trackpad
changes if I change the monitor configuration between above/below and
side-by-side.

I'm not sure this is a dupe - #140860 states that the issue does not
appear in metacity, however I now have this problem in both compiz and
metacity. Just verified again in Ubuntu Lucid Lynx, same machine as
Sorry, I should say that this is with a fresh install of Intrepid Ibex
on the new 13.3" aluminium Macbook. I'm using Compiz with the
restricted Nvidia driver version 177 (Geforce 9400M). Primary (upper)
monitor is a Sun LCD, 1920x1200, connected via DVI. Lower monitor is
the LVDS at 1280x800+320
I have exactly the same issue. I have two monitors, and I have them
positioned one above the other. Positioning the monitors side by side
resolves the issue.
