Gustav is correct. Editing the file /usr/bin/xdg-settings as described
in the bug report has fixed the problem for me in 15.10. Perhaps this
will help someone at least eliminate the annoyance for now.
The offending line for me is line #198

I can confirm this problem in 15.10, and editing /usr/bin/xdg-settings
as mentioned fixes the problem, allowing the default browser to be
properly set.

I have tried this 5 times from clean installs to get phpmyadmin
installed properly on a Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal (POWERPC) server. I go
through and have no problems installing Apache2, PHP5, MySQL but when i
go to install phpmyadmin my output looks like this:

I found a workaround to get this working:
Install "gnome-alasmixer" from USC and start it. Set the "recording-Flag" on
"Capture".
After that the mic works fine!

Same Problem with Sony VAIO VPCEB4X1E.
On Ubuntu 11.10 the mic worket fine out of the box. Now, after the upgrade to
12.04 (64Bit) the mic doesn't show up under Input in the Sound settings.

If I delete on System-Settings => Network => Network-Proxy, Method = manual the
Proxy-entries (in my case set from "'http://www-proxy.salomon.at:8080/'" to
"") and set the Method then to "none" = no Prodxy, the USC shows me al

I am also experiencing this in version 0.9.21-63-gd3efa-dirty. This
happens only when logging off as the original post stated. Killing the
