Well, I haven't noticed any other problem with X applications. For instance
xfig works right and doesn't complain about colors allocations.
I'll be really glad to do any test you want me to do.
Btw, this is still happening with the latest texlive package available
in feisty. (Version: 2005.dfsg.2
using edgy knot 3 desktop cd:
- i was able to boot the first time i tried, i even played a few games,
but the fans would sometimes start working at full speed during a few
seconds for no apparent reason. the computer eventually froze...
- the second time the keyboard didn't work, i tried shutting
i installed edgy to another partition.
with kernel 2.6.17-9-generic the computer always freezes during booting. even
with the boot option pci=noacpi.
it works only with acpi=off...

I have some more info on this bug. First, it also occurs in Debian Etch
(Gnome 2.14) with an Intel integrated GPI (i810, like kresp0). Second, it
appears to be solved in Edgy. I no longer suffer from it, although I've
switched to the free r300 driver.
¿Is it then solved for all edgy users? And
I'm sorry to say that I'm still using 8.04.
But it doesn't occur any more.
I'd just file or delete it.

mode doesn't expand well shell varibles. It's easier to explain with a example.

I believe this should be closed. It is, indeed, a bug on the hal-device-
manager. This application is not parsing correctly parsing the output of
the hal-device. It should be easy to correct this but, since it is being
deprecated (already deleted from the git repository of freedesktop) and
replaced
imized glibc.

I've found out with the help of the folks at the Torcs Racing Board that
the piece of software that was causing problems was fglrx. If I
uninstall fglrx and use only the FLOSS r300 driver, torcs runs as well
as usual. Does this grant a bug against fglrx?

I have a problem with the ehci_hcd too. The printer, HP Photosmart C4180
only works in Linux if the USb 2.0 was disabled previously in the BIOS.
But the point is that this printer has a USB 2 port which allways works
perfectly, and even does a good job today with other operating systems.

i uninstalled this packages: pulseaudio, pulseaudio-esound-compat,
pulseaudio-module-bluetooth, pulseaudio-module-gconf, pulseaudio-module-udev,
pulseaudio-module-X11 and ubuntu-desktop. All these programs was uninstalled
with all configurations in synaptic option square. I was restarted the pc

and proposed enabled) and the trash still shows the wrapped message.

I've found out with the help of the folks at the Torcs Racing Board that
the piece of software that was causing problems was fglrx. If I
uninstall fglrx and use only the FLOSS r300 driver, torcs runs as well
as usual. Does this grant a bug against fglrx?

Currently, I've got Feisty installed. If I can keep Feisty, count with
my help. Else, I'm a bit wary of installing Gutsy before Tribe 2. I'll
gladly test your packages. However, I've got a question. As fglrx is
proprietary, is there any change between your 8.37.6 and AMD's official
8.37
