In the meantime, I have switched my graphics to the internal Intel. This
will make it a lot easier to install custom kernels because I will no
longer depend on the nouveau or nvidia drivers.

Quanta Optical touchscreen recognized as usb but not as input device

The mainline kernel does not fix the bug. My problem is, I do not know
how to add a tag in Launchpad. It is a long time ago since I did this...
and the help I get from the internet suggests there is an 'add tag'
button on top of the page, but there isn't. So maybe I do not have the

Public bug reported:
I bought a IIyama T2250MTS touchscreen with a Quanta Optical screen in
it that is attached through USB. It fails to register as a hiddev at

I'm not sure where to post this, but I've been switching yesterday from
Karmic to Lucid (upgrade of Kubuntu) and I have a X1250 on a Medion

It seems I've found the cause of this problem. Looking at old posts

in the same shell. This solved the issue...

Could you please have a look at this? It is still a problem in 3.2 that
I installed from the PPA yesterday. It could very well be that the
problem is not kubuntu-specific but also occurs in other Ubuntu-
flavours. You would help me enormously by fixing this.

I can confirm this bug for a Dell Latitude D620 with an GMA 950 Intel
chip. However, on this machine, the trick with Fn-F8 does not work.
Reboot or putting the machine to sleep with Fn-Esc and then power it up,
fires up the screen again.

Yes I have. I'm using Karmic with latest updates. My OOo is at
3.1.1-5ubuntu1, which by the way, solved most problems with the KDE-
dialog. Thanks for that. But this bug is still the same, with or without
kde-support installed.

I can confirm this. In addition, the auctex package in Ubuntu is
