Bug #1301192 is marked as fixed but even though I've installed latest
phonon-backend-gstreamer1.0 package I'm still not able to use Quassel
client. Doesn't matter if it's quassel-client-qt4 or quassel-client
In my case this was Kubuntu 10.10 (amd64) too.

Marc: I had this problem (as I stated previously), then I forced
synaptic to install older package.
After your answer I did update (so 10.2.152.27 were istalled again)
and... everything works. I do have libflashplayer.so at /usr/lib
/flashplugin-installer

Same here. Flash doesn't work in Chrome and Firefox. I had to force
installation of older version of this package: 10.1.85.3 to make it work
again.

I can confirm that this issue still exists (I have Kubuntu Hardy, ATI
X300)
Commands like: xawtv or v4l-conf cause "black screen". After switching to
another console (alt+ctrl+F1) and back (alt+ctrl+F7) I see my screen again and
console output like:
..# xawtv
This is xawtv-3.95.dfsg.1, running o
