I have the same issue on Windows 11, Chrome/Edge freezing for about 3-4
seconds when you save any file to disk. This started a few days ago.

Maybe the issue is heat, and the chip slows down of it overheats, and
some manufacturers did not include a heatsink on it, some did.

Just found by Google search to this post. I have the same issue on
Windows 10 with a AX88179 adapter. The adapter randomly crashes / driver
crashes under heavy load or the bandwidth suddenly drops down from
500mbit/s to around 3mbit/s. You can see the issue happening here:

What is this? Permanent 2 x 3% idle on a Xeon 4core is a lot, what is

I'm trying upgrading from maas 1.8.2 to the latest 1.9.1 version via apg-get
update / upgrade commands and the mass update hangs exactly at:
* Stopping web server apache2
I had the same issue on my Dell Precision 380 (interesting to note that
the original poster had a Precision 390). It also prevented me from
installing Ubuntu 12.10 as this error repeating seemed to block the
installation. Disabling the sound in the BIOS allowed me to work-around
the bug and install
