I've experienced the "suspends, but on resume suspends again immediately
(!)" problem (even with intrepid).
I've noticed that if I disable screen locking after suspend/resume, it will
cause this.
(that's why it's easily reproduceable on a LIVE-CD, because it won't lock the
screen on resume)
If

gconf-editor and "uncheck" the following option:
apps->gnome-power-manager->lock->suspend
The problem will happen when suspend is triggered from fn-f4 (not from

I'm running Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex and this bug just resurfaced after the
last kernel upgrade.
- The older kernel where this was working fine was: linux-image-2.6.27-9-generic
- Now running linux-image-2.6.27-11-generic and the problem reappeared.
- I have a Thinkpad T61 and am using driver iwl3945.
Updating to kernel 2.6.27-14-generic fixes this for me on my Thinkpad
T61.

Turns out "btusb" is replacing "hci_usb", so this is normal.
/etc/init.d/bluetooth was not set to start in runlevel 2, which was

Here are the log entries in /var/log/daemon. You'll see that it takes
over 30 seconds to reconnect.
Note: on some occasions, the reconnect has already completed when I come
out of the lock screen after resume.

I was able to identify that "~/.gconf" or "~/.gconfd" directories were
responsible for this. Once they were removed, from my home directory,
the hotkeys started working again.

On Intrepid Ibex, the brightness hotkeys on my Thinkpad T61 (Fn-Home/Fn-
End) stop working after I enable Numlock (Fn-ScrLk).
It seems enabling Numlock creates an entry in
~/.gconf/desktop/gnome/peripherals/host-{hostname}/0/%gconf.xml (to save
the Numlock state I guess). Onc

I confirm this on my Thinkpad T61 as well. The following post seems to
suggest a newer version of evdev supports the EmulateWheelTimeout
option:
