Ok, my bad. It turns out that I had to create a symlink from
tegra_drv.so -> tegra_dri.abi11.so since my Xorg uses video driver ABI
11.0...
Now the driver actually loads. I can't seem to get any GL going though;
both glxinfo and glxgears complain that there are no RGB visuals.

This happens to me as well.
Analyzing the problem, I found that the called function "_savegpr_30"
has a non-standard calling convention; it takes its input parameter in
r11. However, the call to the function goes through the PLT (a dynamic
call), which clobbers r11. This looks like a GCC bug.

Is there a tool to inject a package update into a live CD image, or do I need
to unpack
the image, use dpkg --root, and then recreate the ISO (including El Torito and

Well, the symptoms are the same as the original reporter (no working analog
video on DVI-I).
It's a bit difficult to know a priori which issues are exactly the same...
But there is also e.g. bug 340940, should I attach the logs there?

as X started, the monitor went into power save. Switching to a text VT worked,
but switching
back to VT7 again gave me power save mode. I'm attaching the X log.

Some wiseguy has added -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 to the default options of gcc.
As a result, molelf does not link correctly.
The attached patch fixes the problem.

1) Added the line "ASYNCMOUNTNFS=no" to the end of /etc/default/rcS
2) Commented out the line in /etc/network/if-up.d/nis
and now my system is booting normally again.

Well, the symptom is different, because now the package doesn't build, so there
is no candidate which would fail the dependency check... :-(
It's the compilation of bootx/main/init.S which fails.

Compared to what I had installed before. :-) I guess it must have been
something other than
2.0.5-1ubuntu5.1 then, but update-manager kindly "upgraded" me to
2.0.5-1ubuntu5.2 which
has the bug, from something that didn't, which was what got me to react...
