This is a bug that appears to be due to the gconf library being
commented out in /usr/lib/cinnamon-settings/bin/SettingsWidgets.py .
This is easily fixed by uncommenting the gconf inport line in
SettingsWidgets.py.

Looking at the initial commit for TRIM in the kernel I can see that it's
calling ata_id_has_trim() and passing in the disks ID. This looks like
it filters disks that don't support TRIM.

I researched it about a year ago now for work and the kernel should
probe the hardware to see if it supports TRIM. If it doesn't then it
won't use it. It shouldn't cause any problems for people. If anyone
knows differently then let me know.

/sys/block/sda/queue/rotational
Just cat it. 1 means it's rotational, 0 means it is an SSD. Just change
sda to be the disk you want to inspect. You will also need root

I've had a check on my work machine and it appears to be working fine
now. I installed Audacity and Stellarium, and I also re-installed
Supertux 1 and 2 with success every time. The only thing I noticed was
that uninstalling doesn't get rid of the Icon from the launcher but I'm

Hi Gary, Interestingly I did a fresh install yesterday on another
machine and that one appears to be working as expected. However, I can
try it again on my machine at work which was experiencing the issue and
gather the debug info you requested if it is still doing it. I keep my
machines up to date

I still get random behaviour. Some packages go into the launcher, some
don't. This is on a number of systems including fresh installs and

When I click on 'Re-install previous purchases' in the software centre

The special + w key in 12.04 exposes windows on the current desktop,
which is different to previous releases where it exposed windows on all
desktops, which I thought was more useful. Not only this but it is

The fix has not been released yet. They're in a Beta freeze at present
